Here is a copy of my latest PowerPoint presentation that I delivered on May 25, 2010 entitled "Let's Talk About HST and Customs Duties". Yes, it is an odd combination of information. The presentation was delivered in the context of supply chains involving Canada (Ontario in particular). The focus was on non-income tax compliance.

Thanks for informative blog Cyndee - one question - will HST apply to the cost of the brokers actual customs entry service or just to the products?
Cyndee's response - There are two separate supplies (1) the goods and (2) the customs broker services. If the goods are released into an HST province, HST would apply to the customs broker' services.
